How to Highlight Your Kitchen In Your Vacation Rental Listing

Learn how you can highlight your incredible kitchen in your vacation rental listing.

Your kitchen is a critical part of your vacation rental listing. Many people opt for a vacation rental instead of a hotel room so they can cook for themselves while on vacation. Because of that, a great kitchen can make a huge difference to guests deciding to stay at your rental. To attract the most guests to your vacation rental, be sure to highlight your kitchen and the advantages it offers.

Take Great Pictures of Your Kitchen’s Best Features

What are the highlights of your kitchen? Does it offer something unique? You may want to include some of the essential elements in your listing. For example, suppose you have a high-quality or glass-top oven, specialty cooking equipment, or a gorgeous breakfast bar. In that case, you should both list those features in the vacation rental description and include high-quality photos.

Show Off The Space In Your Kitchen

How much space does your kitchen offer? Consider the size of the property and how many people can comfortably fit. Is there enough room to cook large meals? Some vacation rentals don’t offer much kitchen space, so if you have plenty of space, show it off! Take photos that give guests a good idea of counter space, oven size, and potential sitting room.

On the other hand, if you don’t have a full-size kitchen, make sure you note that in your rental listing. If you have a smaller-than-usual oven, it might not prevent guests from choosing your listing, but it could change what food they choose to prepare.

Highlight Available Amenities and Tools

What amenities does your kitchen contain? Many vacation rental listings note that kitchens are “fully stocked,” but what does that mean to them? Make sure to be clear with your guests. Include any cooking utensils you provide, as well as tools like cookie sheets, pots and pans, and mixing bowls.

Do you have tools like can openers and wine bottle openers? Have a list of those items on hand to provide to guests if they ask.

You may also want to mention whether you have an outdoor grill or other special cooking tools available. Sometimes, those tools will provide your guests with additional cooking options or enhance the creativity they can bring to their experience.

Mention All Provided Seasonings and Spices

Do you keep your vacation rental stocked with salt and pepper, or do you offer a full array of seasonings? Those simple options can provide many options for your guests when cooking, so make sure to let them know what you provide in your kitchen.

You will also want to offer information on whether you keep things like coffee filters on hand or whether you use a coffee pot or coffee pod machine. Your guests will either bring food with them or shop after arriving, so having a list available can make it easier for them to prepare for a shopping trip.

Are you ready to optimize your vacation rental listing? Your kitchen is one of the most important amenities to many guests. Highlight your kitchen thoroughly to maximize your bookings.
